Our Core Values

  • The Bible, and Bible preaching and teaching

All Scripture is God breathed; it is God’s revelation to mankind.  The Bible, God’s word, is true, reliable and relevant.  The early church devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching (now contained in the New Testament) and Paul charged Timothy to ‘preach the word’. A central place is given to preaching and teaching the word in our meetings. (2 Timothy 3:16; Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 4:2)

  • Fellowship with God and with one another

We value the presence of God amongst us. The church is where God makes his home on earth in these days.  Every member is important and the church, Christ’s body, works best when everyone is involved doing what they have been made for.  We worship, work and have fun together.  Jesus taught us to ‘love one another’, so we seek to care for all people and do them good.  We want to serve and honour each other.  (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:25; John 13:34)

  • Prayer

Prayer is the lifeline of the Christian. We encourage members to pray on their own and in small groups and to join with others in the church prayer meeting.  We hold regular times of prayer and fasting so that we can seek God together because we want to be led by the Spirit of God. (Acts 2:42; 13:1-3; Colossians 4:2)

  • Loving God and worshipping him in word and action

God is seeking people who will worship him ‘in spirit and in truth’. We want our whole lives to glorify God and when we meet together we enjoy loving him from our hearts.  Sometimes we all meet together and sometimes we meet in small groups.  In our meetings, we give opportunity for individuals to express themselves to God and for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate. (John 4:23-24; Colossians 3:17; Ephesians 5:19-20)

  • Not being selfish with the wonderful things that God has shown us, but sharing the news with others

Jesus told us to ‘Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations’. Many of our members have been on short or long term missions abroad.  In addition, we seek to be a witness to our friends, relatives, work colleagues and the local community at home. (Mat 28:19; Acts 1:8)
